More legal flak

Legal flak is still flying around the 33rd America's Cup challenge after BMW Oracle's yacht club, Golden Gate Yacht Club, responded to allegations from defender Societe Nautique de Geneve (Alinghi) that it had been less than economical with the truth.
As a result, the GGYC has advised the Supreme Court of New York that it was considering action against SNG for breach of fiduciary duty.
That would be unprecedented in America's Cup history.
Whether that action is taken remains to be seen but what is known is that the latest legal squabble between the two will be heard by the Court on October 27.
Meanwhile, Alinghi held a media open day at the contentious Ras Al Khaimah venue in the United Arab Emirates at the weekend.
What was seen during the day was the shallow nature of the venue with the likely racing area involving a depth of 30 metres.
The building of the America's Cup village is well underway on a man-made island and while Alinghi's base is well established, building has stopped on the BMW Oracle complex after it went back to the court over the venue.
