Swifts win five straight

New South Wales Swifts asserted their dominance in the ANZ Championship when they recorded an easy 55-43 win over West Coast Fever in Newcastle on Sunday.
The Swifts now have five wins from five matches and approach their bye next round knowing they are genuine premiership contenders.
Susan Pratley was the best for the Swifts scoring with 30 goals.
Meanwhile the Fever, who were held to their lowest score of the season, are in danger of slipping out of touch after recording their fourth loss in 2010.
Despite some first-half resistance, the Swifts controlled the game from the outset and had 16 more shots on goal than the Fever.
Scores were relatively close at half-time (31-25). But a high-scoring third term when the Fever was outscored 15-7 ensured the Swifts took the points.
The Western Australian team's depth will be tested in the coming weeks after defenders Josie Janz and Australian squad member Susan Fuhrmann both suffered knee injuries during the third quarter.
Leading Fever shooter Caitlin Bassett was held to 27 goals, well below her usual output.
Fever will get their chance to avenge for the loss against Adelaide in Perth next Monday.
